What is DiSC?

Everything DiSC® is the leading personal assessment tool used by more than 40 million people to improve work productivity, teamwork and communication. DiSC is a personal assessment tool used to improve work productivity, teamwork and communication. If you participate in a DiSC assessment, you’ll be asked to complete a series of questions that produce a detailed report about your personality and behaviour. DiSC is non-judgmental and helps people discuss their behavioural differences.

The DiSC model provides a common language that people can use to better understand themselves and to adapt their behaviors with others. This can be within a work team, a sales relationship, a leadership position, or other relationships.

DiSC profiles help you and your team:

How is DiSC different then other assessments like Myers-Briggs?

DiSC looks at behaviours as a result of your personality type, rather than just personality type.  Why is that important?  Because behaviour is what others see, and what we see in them.  DiSC helps us identify and name our own behaviours and those of others, and understand the motivations behind them so that we can strengthen our relationships.   Personality assessments like Myers-Briggs help us gain insight into ourselves but they stop there.  Everything DiSC helps us translate that into tools to build better relationships and thus to be more successful in our work and career.

Emotional Intelligence Assessments

Many excellent assessment tools exist to measure different things. You’ve heard of IQ tests to measure intelligence. You’ve maybe heard of Myers-Briggs or DISC to assess personality type. Team members at Padraig Coaching & Consulting Inc are trained and licensed practitioners of a number of valuable assessment tools for individual and team success.

One area we assess, that is particularly important for executive success, is “Emotional Intelligence” or “EI.”  You may think it sounds “touchy-feely” and all about “soft-skills” but Emotional Intelligence will likely have more influence on your personal career success, and your organization’s success, then any other single measurable factor.  Some of our team members are highly certified practitioners in EI Assessments, among other things.

So what is Emotional Intelligence?

Emotional intelligence is defined as:

a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges, and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way.

Why is that important?

Well, while emotional intelligence isn’t the sole predictor of human performance and leadership potential, it is proven to be a key indicator in these areas. Emotional intelligence is also not a static factor — to the  contrary, one’s emotional intelligence can change over time and can be developed in targeted areas.

EQi 2.0

The industry leading self-assessment tool and the first scientifically validated Emotional Intelligence (EI) tool in the world. Several of our team members are certified assessors. This tool uses the same format as the EQi 2.0 but this time we ask your boss, your peers, your staff and others to assess your skills in the EQ360, while you take the EQi 2.0. We then help you interpret the way you see yourself, the way others see you, possible gaps in the two, and most importantly figure out where and how you’d like to make changes for even greater success in the workplace and in life.


The LEADS in a Caring Environment Capabilities Framework is a foundational element for health leadership development in Canada. The framework defines the knowledge, skills, and attitudes a leader needs to exhibit in order to successfully contribute to an effective and efficient Canadian health system and the 360 tool, like other 360s,  allows you to take a personal inventory and receive feedback from others to then strengthen and improve your contribution.
